Since its inception, the Association has done much work to implement the tasks stated in EARAZA Charter. The Association regularly organizes advanced training courses, meetings, workshops, conferences, and other professional events including scientific and practical seminars and conferences for veterinarians, educators, zoologists and other specialists of zoos and aquariums. When carrying out such events, great attention is paid to issues of the welfare of animals kept by EARAZA member institutions.
EARAZA Zoo Informational Centre serves as an advisory office, providing Association members with up-to-date information on the wide range of zoo activity matters and carries out extensive advisory and methodological work. The Centre’s employees organize conferences and training workshops, and collect papers and other materials for scientific and methodological publications of the Association. EARAZA also translates and publishes many brochures, books, research papers, and animal management guidelines developed by other international associations of zoos and aquariums.
EARAZA establishes and manages regional ex-situ breeding programs for endangered and rare animal species with the aim of the conservation of their populations and when necessary, participates in species reintroduction projects.
EARAZA specialists provide member zoos and other zoological institutions with the assistance in developing documentation on zoo construction and renovation projects.
EARAZA Presidium will be grateful to all interested parties for any professional advice and suggestions regarding further improvement of the Association’s activities.
