On September 9-11, the scientific library of the Moscow Zoo served as a platform for zoo veterinary specialists to share their experience and knowledge. The event was attended by delegates from over 20 cities of Russia, as well as from Kazakhstan and Belarus. The Conference was organized by Dmitry Egorov, Senior Veterinarian of the Moscow Zoo, and Anastasia Vysokikh, Head of the Moscow Zoo’s Veterinary Department.
Svetlana Akulova, EARAZA/RUZA President, gave a speech at the opening ceremony. She paid special attention to the issue of digitalization in veterinary medicine and delivered a presentation titled “Digital Veterinarian: How Do AI-decisions Bridge an Educational Gap in Veterinary Medicine of Wild Animals.”
During three days of the conference presentations were given by many veterinary professionals including Sergey Gershov, Nikita Mylov, Mariana Tokunova and Alyona Cherednichenko from Moscow Zoo, Ulyana Bogomazova from Minsk Zoo, Elena Komaretz from Grodno Zoo, Gulnara Kharizova from Kazan Zoological and Botanical Gardens, Elena Morozova from Buryatia Zoo, Innokentiy Bulavinov and Modest Vlasov from Leningrad Zoo, Ekaterina Zykova from Alpaca Park (Moscow), Ekaterina Romenskaya from Kaliningrad Zoo, Vera Sedko and Marina Kazemyrchuk from Dr Sotnikov Clinic, Alla Safronova from Rostov-on-Don Zoo, Darya Kouptil from Panteric Veterinary Centre for Exotic Animals (Moscow), and Yulia Kryvova from BioControl Veterinary Clinic.
On the first day of the conference, the participants discussed various problems of anesthesia and dental procedures; the topics of the second day included animal reproduction processes, obstetric aid, various pathologies, and veterinary research. The last day was dedicated to X-ray anatomy and X-ray pathology.
