On September 8–17, 2026, the Moscow Zoo Academy will hold the course “Training in the Zoo. Modern Approaches and Ensuring Good Animal Welfare”. The working language of the course is Russian.
The course is aimed at the keepers who use animal training in their daily activities, or are planning to do so.
The program of the course includes both theoretical module that will help refresh the knowledge gained during the course "Zoo Fundamentals" and practical sessions. The course will cover basic concepts of the learning theory, general principles of zoo animal training, effects of training on animal welfare, and the most common behavior shaping techniques.
At the end of the course, the participants will take tests and present the results of their practical animal training sessions.
