The Third Conference on Zoo Design and Planning

The Third Conference entitled “Zoo Design and Projecting” will be held in the city of Perm on October 6 through 9, 2026.

The aim of the conference is to enable participants to share experience in the field of the use of modern approaches and advanced technological solutions in designing new zoos and exhibits.

The main topics of the conference will include:

1. Territorial strategic planning (masterplans, regulatory framework).

2. Project management (the structure of interactions within the zoo team and with external contractors).

3. New projects.

4. New facilities.

5. Designing and planning of landscape elements (landscape gardening, water bodies, small architectural forms, etc.).

6. Incorporation of educational element into animal exhibits.

Architects, designers, directors and their deputies in charge of these areas of activity (including heads of zoological departments), as well as other managers and stakeholders are invited to participate in the conference.

A new zoo was opened in Perm in 2025, and a tour of its exhibits will be an integral part of the conference.
